B.E.C.O.M.E.S.: expressing our management values

 

More than a simple acronym, B.E.C.O.M.E.S. conveys the core values that every Elior manager should embody, defend and promote in his or her management practices.

 

At the heart of our management culture is the word B.E.C.O.M.E.S., each of whose letters expresses a core value that our managers are expected to demonstrate: Be professional, Engaged, Care about results, Orient, Mentor, Encourage, Show respect.

 

Today, these values are being translated into real-world performance through a variety of initiatives:

 

• All of our training programmes are based on a three-part teaching model that includes representing the Group, understanding the role of a manager and development of expected skills, that encourages employees to continuously improve their managerial practices.

 

• Over 2,000 managers have participated in the “Becomes: Our Management Practices” course, which is designed to help them to be more attentive to their team members’ needs and aspirations, improve their delegation skills, set higher performance standards and nurture their team’s talents.

 

• During the orientation process, new managers participate in a “B.E.C.O.M.E.S. Manager” course that exposes them to our management values.

 

• The management training curriculum, which covers such topics as annual performance reviews and successful hiring, has been aligned with the B.E.C.O.M.E.S. values, to keep them present and meaningful.
