Elior's collective VAE: a process glorified by success

For the 3rd year in a row, Elior is making the most of its partners and their employability through a process of collective accompaniment of their Acquired Experience Validation (known as VAE).

Customized accompaniment of our candidates

In 2011, after a two year-long experiment, Elior is confirming its commitment to the collective accompaniment approach it calls VAE. Elior's collective VAE program is focused on 4 different professions in the world of institutional and concession restaurant services:
•    managing chefs,
•    technical restaurant employees (ETR),
•    qualified restaurant employees (EQR),
•    operating assistants.

The program is based on clearly defined process and criteria. Each candidate must be able to prove at least 3 years' seniority and is interviewed before his or her file is compiled (payslips, resume, internal training route certificates …).

To help the candidates through their process, during the various stages, the Group walks them through the various steps and also provides individual monitoring by an outside accompanying supervisor, in particular by setting up the VAE file.

Towards deployment in other professions?

Once the files are complete, the candidates are presented to an outside jury which inspects and assesses their professional skills. By upstream assessment of the candidates and extensive monitoring of their approach, the success factor in being awarded the diploma is 90 %. Quite a success for the Group and its partners: thanks to VAE, ETR or EQR training candidates often succeed in validating their 1st diploma!

During the last diploma awards ceremony in November 2010, a Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP), a branch diploma recognized by the profession, was bestowed on 39 of our partners.
Management, Group Executive Board members and the hierarchical superiors of the graduates attended the ceremony to celebrate the success.

The number of participants has increased in 2011: this year there 49 partners. In the light of this growing success, the Group is already thinking about ways in which the system could be extended towards other professions.
