Homage to Mexico at Les Ombres, the restaurant on Quai Branly!

Mexico's cuisine is a cultural system dating back at least 8000 years, the time pre-Columbian man began to harvest maize. According to connoisseurs all over the world, Mexican gastronomy is one of the most sophisticated, comparable in wealth and variety to French and Chinese cuisine.

From 6 October 2009 to 24 January 2010, the Quai Branly Museum is organizing a major exhibition named “Teotihuacan, City of Gods”, an opportunity to discover one of Mexico’s most amazing locations.

As part of this exhibition, a gastronomic week is being organized from 6 to 12 October 2009 at the restaurant know as Les Ombres du Quai Branly, directed by Eduardo Gutierrez, working jointly with the team headed by Sébastien Tasset, chef at Les Ombres.
Eduardo Guttierrez, a renowned chef aged 34, comes from Hotel Marquis Reforma in Mexico City where he has been cooking since 1999. He has already participated in a great number of International Gastronomy Festivals".

In addition, Café Branly will be organizing a Mexican dish tasting event throughout the duration of the exhibition, from 6 October 2009 until 24 January 2010.
