“Talk About Soup!” competition: the seven regional finals are off and running
The seven regional finals of the “Talk About Soup!” competition were kicked off yesterday by the Provence/Alpes/Côte d’Azur and Nord/Pas-de-Calais/Picardie/Normandie regions. They were hosted respectively by Dominique Frérard, Chef of the Sofitel Marseille Vieux Port Hotel, and Marc Meurin, Chef of Château de Beaulieu in Busnes.
“Talk About Soup!” promotes intergenerational dialogue with a soup recipe competition that partners residents of the 250 retirement homes where Avenance manages foodservices with fourth/fifth graders from schools where Avenance serves meals. With the help of an Avenance chef, each pair of contestants, prepares a soup in the kitchen of a chef with at least one Michelin star or of a Maître Cuisinier de France (French Master Chef) in their region. The jury is made up of leading local personalities and foodservice specialists, such as chefs and food critics, who taste the soup and select a winner.
