Yves Pinard’s new book Cuisine et Peinture au Musée d’Orsay (Cooking and Painting at the Musée d’Orsay)
Building on the success of his previous book, Cuisine et Peinture au Louvre (Cooking and Painting at the Louvre), Yves Pinard has written a new book inspired by the works of Manet, Monet, Gauguin, Renoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Courbet, Toulouse-Lautrec and others in a personal celebration of the Musée d’Orsay’s 20th anniversary. In it, Pinard, the chef of Le Grand Louvre restaurant operated by Elior at the Louvre, reveals the delicate chemistry between painting and cooking in a series of recipes that evoke some of the museum’s most popular works, while revisiting the old favourites of his predecessors, chefs Carême and Escoffier.
The gourmet tastings have been enriched by the expert commentary of Séverine Quoniam, art historian and co-author of the book.
Together, these two creative minds have assembled 90 paintings and 50 recipes in a harmonious blend of genres to make Cuisine et Peinture au Musée d’Orsay a rich sensory experience
